In July 2025, a detachable modular air supported storage facility, developed by a leading domestic air membrane technology company was successfully inflated and brought into operation for a major energy group. This project feels like a real breakthrough, in the way modular air membrane solutions are being used for the green conversion of older mining areas, and the Inflatable Tent structure is now kinda becoming a fresh symbol of sustainable industrial infrastructure.
As a cornerstone of national energy security, the energy group runs a world class portfolio that covers coal mining, thermal power, wind power, and coal to liquids industries. Its open pit coal mine has taken on the idea that clean surroundings can create enduring value, and it keeps exploring a path where ecological restoration goes together with new energy deployment. To satisfy strict requirements for land reuse, plus a rather tight construction timeline, the project team moved away from the traditional concrete foundations. The solution combines heavy load performance, rapid assembly, and a full life cycle green concept, sort of like a carefully fitted joinery method, similar to mortise and tenon construction. That makes it stable but still relocatable, and it basically redefines how large scale Inflatable Tent structures can be set up in industrial zones.
Project data shows that this technology shortened the construction period by 40 percent ,and cut down construction waste by 80 percent while also making it possible to do rapid assembly and dismantling within 72 hours. As the 14,400-square-meter air-supported storage facility rose on site ,it really showed how a "zero-waste mine" strategy can work in practice, and it also made clear how fourth-generation air-membrane technology is deeply connected to ecological principles, plus smart engineering.
The successful application delivered three major benefits for large mining operations. First , modular construction enables a 40 percent faster build time compared with concrete bases, which means flexible land reuse becomes less complicated. Second , total life-cycle costs are reduced by more than 35 percent, and that gives mines a scalable model for cost control, basically. Third, early carbon reduction planning significantly lowers the project's carbon footprint which supports longer-term energy-saving goals.
